Gate Lane form
The Gate Lane form enables you to define lanes and assign printers to lanes defined for the selected gate. You can define as many lanes as necessary for each gate and assign as many printers to each gate lane as needed.
To add or edit a gate lane for the selected gate:
In the Lane ID field, enter an ID that uniquely identifies the gate lane for the selected gate.
From the Class drop-down list, select one of the following:
In-gate Lane: For processing trucks into the facility
Out-gate Lane: For processing trucks out of the facility
In/Out-gate Lane: For processing trucks in or out of the facility
Trouble lane: For processing trouble transactions from the ingate lanes
In the Description field, enter a description of the purpose of the gate lane.
Specify any optional information, such as the lane truck visit, and lane pedestal ID.
Click Save.
The following table lists the optional fields in the Gate Lane form:
Field Label |
Description |
---|---|
Truck Visit |
Select a truck license number if you want to assign a specific truck visit to this lane. For example, you can use the Truck Visit drop-down list to assign a truck visit to a gate lane if the truck is in the incorrect lane. It is not required to enter a value in this field when defining a gate lane. N4 automatically updates the value in this field to reflect the truck visit that it is currently processing in the selected lane. |
Pedestal ID |
Enter the gate lane pedestal ID. This is the external ID of the pedestal as specified by your pedestal hardware provider. N4 uses the gate lane pedestal ID to process the truck data collected at the pedestal. |
Requires Appointments |
Select the check box if the selected lane requires appointments. If you select the Requires Appointments check box and the RejectAppointmentLaneRequired (on page 1) business task is used, N4 rejects a gate transaction for the selected gate lane if a clerk does not enter an appointment number. |
Has Loop Detector |
When checked, indicates that the lane has a Loop Detector that will send a truck exit message. If this is checked when the truck is sent to trouble, the lane status will remain as sent to trouble until the lane clearance message is received, otherwise the lane will be cleared automatically. |
Lane Status |
N4 displays the status of the lane as Open, Closed, Locked or Reserved. |
